Having just wrapped up a series of 2012 Autodesk Product Launch events, it’s hard for me to even start thinking about next year’s release. Of course, for Autodesk to meet their annual release cycle, you better believe they’ve already started thinking about AutoCAD 2013 and beyond. In fact, Autodesk is currently conducting a survey on what looks like it could lead to a very cool drawing compare feature in a future release of AutoCAD.

Fill out a short survey about your AutoCAD drawing comparison needs – $30 lottery for participation!
The AutoCAD research team would like to learn as much as possible about the work you do when comparing drawings in order to improve future versions of AutoCAD. The survey should take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete, and there will be a lottery for participants for a $30 Amazon gift card.

I’ve participated in several such studies over the years, including some for the new Array tools found in the current AutoCAD 2012 release, and these have always been very friendly sessions to participate in. Autodesk isn’t interested in criticizing your current workflow, but instead to better understand it so they can develop awesome new tools that will ultimately save you time. So don’t be bashful, help Autodesk help you (and the rest of the AutoCAD community)!

Like your AutoCad 2011 no experience necessary (I am using 2012, but most things carry over just fine, your 2012 book wasn’t out when I needed it). Great job. I haven’t touched AC, before this, and the book is a fantastic foundation. All of that in less then thirty days. Thank you!
I wanted to mention, that on page 395 step three, the 2″ should be changed to 2′ (in to ft). I figured it out, but it sure confused me for a bit. I was figuring on it, when I glanced at the metric conversion, and noticed that it should be two feet, not two inches. I figure it is too late to correct it for 2012, but at least you know.
