Updating an Attribute Text Style

Attributed blocks can be incredibly powerful, but they do sometimes have their issues.  Among those is one I personally came across here recently as I was working to update the text style of an attribute definition.  Quite simply, the attribute text was defined correctly in the AutoCAD Block Editor (BEDIT command), but displayed the incorrect text style in the drawing itself.

Despite redefining the block, neither the REGEN nor the REGENALL commands seem to work.  There is however a rather simple solution.

The ATTSYNC Command.

You can find the ATTSYNC command on the Modify II toolbarimage , or just type it at the Command Line.  From there you can type the name of your stubborn attributed block, or just select it, and just like that – problem solved!

Great command although it resets properties if you have mirrored or rotated the block.

Excellent work. This has been driving me crazy for months. Sometimes I would have 60 room tag block and could not change the color of the text which would force me to remake the block and start tagging the rooms from scratch. This saved me allot of work. Thank you.
